TUITION ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM
Since 1992 we have been successfully working with a tuition adjustment policy based on the ideal that Waldorf education should be accessible to all families who wish it for its own values, regardless of their economic status. Through our tuition adjustment program, we ensure that the acceptance of a child into our school does not depend on the financial resources of the child’s family.
If a family is unable to meet our tuition guidelines, the family completes a tuition adjustment application and meets with two members of our tuition adjustment committee. During this meeting, the group closely reviews both the school’s budget and the family’s budget. The adjusted tuition needs to reflect an understanding of the school as a whole entity. Neither the family nor the school determines the tuition amount, and neither maintains a comfortable position in this process; each stretches to meet the needs of the other. The final step in this meeting is to arrive, by consensus, at a tuition amount.
Our tuition adjustment program embodies the school’s commitment to enter into relationship with members of our community and become aware of the needs and gifts of each member. We view these adjusted tuitions as a contribution to our income rather than a reduction in income. The program does not lessen our strong sense of fiscal responsibility. On the contrary, it requires thorough budget preparation and ongoing review to ensure continuous progress and the achievement of goals based on the values and ideals of Waldorf education.
Please contact the school at 650 948 8433 x 290 if you have any questions.

IT TAKES MORE THAN TUITION
Parents make Waldorf education possible. They enhance the life of the school and the community. Through parents' involvement our school thrives with the life, light, warmth and strength to grow. By participating in Annual Giving, parents reaffirm their commitment to Waldorf education. Donations to Annual Giving are used to bridge the gap between the operating budget and tuitions collected. As we pursue outside funding, it is important that we show our own parents’ support for the school. A gift of any amount helps us to achieve our goal of 100% participation in our Annual Giving fund.
The school depends on volunteer effort in other areas besides fundraising. We look for volunteers who have expertise and talent in many school development activities. This participation may involve financial donations and a commitment of time.
